CDI Signs EPC Contract for the Overall Planning and Design of Shanxi Datong 10 Million Ton Coal Gangue Comprehensive Utilization Project (Phase I) and the EPC Implementation of Calcined Caolin Production Lines

Chengdu Design & Research Institute of Building Material Industry Co., Ltd. (Abbreviated as "CDI") and Zhongneng Jianke Rui Technology (Datong) Co., Ltd. successly signed the "Shanxi Datong Ten Million Ton Coal Gangue Comprehensive Utilization Project (Phase I) EPC Contract recently.
The first phase of the project employs comprehensive technological solutions that integrates pure suspension calcination, rotary kiln calcination equipped with multiple stage preheaters, a flash calciner and a special cooler for handling ultra-fine particles, enabling the annual utilization of 2 million tons of coal gangue.
The pure suspension calcination production line utilizes the core technological process of "distributed feeding - suspended preheating - homogeneous flash calcination - integrated suspended cooling", primarily used for manufacturing fiberglass raw materials, active mineral substances, and constituents of ceramic body.
The rotary kiln calcination production line integrates multiple stage preheaters for efficient heat recovery, a flash calciner for de-carbonation reactions, a rotary kiln for complete de-carbonation and mineral phases conversion, a specialized cooler for handing ultra-fine particles, hereby enabling the production of high-quality calcined kaolin, mullite-phase refractory materials, ceramic glazes, and related products.
The successful signing of this project marks another significant breakthrough for CDI in the field of coal gangue comprehensive utilization, following the 10 million tons/year coal gangue comprehensive utilization project by Qingfeng Green Energy in Hebei Wuan.
CDI fully leverages the technical advantages of coal gangue suspended calcination, taking the project as an opportunity, continuously deepening technological research and development, and continuously building industrial solid waste treatment benchmark projects. The project efficiently utilizes the mineral resources in coal gangue, achieving "transforming waste into treasure", improving the resource recycling rate, and alleviating the pressure of resource shortage. As a typical case of green and low-carbon development, this project is and has significant social and strategic significance to CDI.
